Where Have You Been?!

Wow... we have a lot to catch up on! Are you still there?

Where do I even begin, since my last post in June 2015 a lot has happened. I went through a huge break up of a long term relationship, started two new jobs and had a long string of pretty awful Tinder dates. (Anyone who knows me will have enjoyed my many stories - there was one that left half way through, the one that watched cartoons in his spare time and the one who waited outside my flat for a day,  oh and the endless ghostings).

Then out of the blue I met someone who found my erratic mood swings actually attractive and sometime I still can't quite believe it.

But that doesn't answer your question about where I have been?

To be honest the world of social media went from being something I loved doing in my spare time to being 9-5 working day job, I work in Influencer Marketing matching other influencers to brand campaigns. I get to meet some of the most wonderfully talented bloggers out there, a few have become friends, and I am always inspired by the content they create - just not enough to sit down and write my own.

I fell a bit out of love with the pressure of Instagram, posting three times a week and trying to take photos on a weekend when it was 'golden hour'. It was hard to do both and I really struggled. I wasn't ever sure I would return to blogging.

Something was niggling at me though, a little voice that wondered what if? What if people had actually read some of my stuff and enjoyed it?

A few comments on my Facebook page were asking where the revews had gone. I blew off the cobwebs and logged in to see a number of blog views that surprised me. Perhaps not the number from the peak of my writing days, but there it was, 463 of you clicked on my little space on the web just last month!

In over 4 years of me not posting a single article people were still coming to my site! Perhaps it was a mistake? Those people had come to my blog expecting stories about Pixie's and found pages on shampoo and lipstick - for those of you that applies to I am hugely sorry to disappoint you.

But for those that checked in, read my ramblings and even left a comment I really want to thank you!

You made me realise that something was missing and that was this little safe place for me to pour my collection of garbled letters and close ups of my face.

Perhaps I am not back full time, but I may pop up and write something now and then. So for those of you still reading, thank you.

Let me know what you fancy hearing about in the comments below!

John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume in Shower Treatment Review

John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume in Shower Treatment Review

Oh why, oh why! My sister has beautiful long hair that bounces when she walks and swishes like a vale of copper glitter. Me on the other hand...my hair is fine, brittle and can't decide if it wants to be blonde or brown.

I like to try the latest hair products, promising the hair you dream of in small squeezy bottles! The fresh face on the scene is the new John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7 Day Volume In-Shower Treatment...*puts tongue back in mouth*.

What they say: An innovative treatment with volume boosting polymers, penetrates fine hair to thicken individual hair fibers and enhance thickness and fullness for volume building style.

What I say: After shampooing and conditioning as normal, I apply 3 pumps to the palm of my hand and rub it through damp hair. I have really flat roots, so I make sure I concentrate on that area. Once I am happy I have covered my entire head I leave it to work magic for 4 minuets. Have a bit of a sing in the shower or shave my legs.

Once that is done I just rinse it off with semi warm water. I dry my hair upside-down with the hair dryer to create as much lift as possible!

There is definitely a noticeable difference, my hair feels thicker and their is more of a lift at the root. I use this if I am going on a night out, it holds a style really well. Only negative point is that I wash my hair every day, so it doesn't last for me 7 days.

Have you tried this volume boosting hero?

Bare Minerals Complexion Review

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Review
Like many acne sufferers I rely on heavy foundation to cover up blemishes and scaring. It can be hard in the warmer months as heavy based liquid foundations often run and melt into patches. One way to avoid this is to try a tinted moisturiser but trade for coverage.

I was recently given the new Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Gel Cream and I gave it a whirl.

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Review

What they say: New to our UK collection, a multitasking genius that combines skincare benefits and naturally radiant coverage in one. The best of a BB, a CC, and a tinted moisturiser...with a 215% increase in skin hydration after just one week. This tinted Complexion Rescue gel cream alleviates the need for a heavy foundation, giving a smooth tint to your face and evening out your complexion in the stroke of a brush.

What I say: There are 10 shades in the range, which is pretty good if like me your skin tone doesn't fit into light, medium or dark category. The gel based texture is lovely and light, using a brush to apply it I found the cream blended amazingly well onto the skin.

As it says this is quite sheer but it did a pretty good job of evening out the skin tone and I only need a little concealer to finish the look. It isn't a cheap option, but if you are looking for skin benefits then this if for you - plus a little goes a long way!

Do you recommend any tinted moisturisers?
