Love at First Flutter | Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara Review

Been looking for the ‘it’ mascara of the summer? I have been trying out the new Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara in Black Onyx for a few weeks and I think I may have found it.

What they say: Out-to-there length and fine-tuned separation plus a feathery-soft look and feel after every buildable coat. All in a formula that stays put for up to 12 smudge-resistant hours, yet removes easily with warm water.

What I say: I have totally fallen in love! This mascara creates beautifully natural looking lashes with the staying power of a waterproof mascara. It is also really easy to remove with warm water but it doesn’t budge through tears, sweat or rain! A bonus if you are heading to a festival this summer and you want something that will last just as long as you can. It is quite small so it doesn’t exactly last very long and you do have to apply a few coats to get this look. I have also used my MAC lash curlers in both pictures as I find my lashed need some added lift. But in saying that I really do rate this mascara!!

Christian Louboutin Launches Beaute

I heard a trickle of gossip about this launch back in February and to be honest I wasn’t really sure what to expect but I was pretty excited! Christian Louboutin has launched his very own beauty line with a signature red polish to match his iconic red soles. Having been a little bit of a shoe worshiper for a number of years I had very high hopes for the range. When the first photos of the bottles started popping up on blogs and twitter I felt a wave of disappointment. I really hoped for something classic, refined and beautiful but instead the packaging looks like a Gothic torturing device that wouldn't look out of place on a Twilight movie merchandise stand. 

What they say: Rouge Louboutin. The tall slender cap, inspired by calligraphy, turns the application into a luxurious experience, inviting women to take their time. The custom-designed, patented triangular brush picks up the right amount of formula, without air bubbles, to deliver flawless, chip-resistant coverage. A highly pigmented, super glossy formula delivers in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of traditional lacquer.

What I say: The bottles 8 inch handle was inspired by the tallest heel Christian Louboutin ever made – I don’t think it is actually possible to walk in such a shoe!!! So I’m not a fan of the spike, ok, but I do like the look of the body of the bottle. It has a beautiful red and black ombre effect and I imagine the glass to be fairly heavy and ultra luxe. Let’s just look at the price for a second… £36 big ones! Yeah, I know! For something that will probably chip of your nails in a week!

Currently only the iconic red is available but later there will be an addition of nudes and pop colours. The collection has already sold out online, but you will soon be able to get your hands on it from Christian Louboutin boutiques – shop shoes and nails at the same time!

Pixi Picks Is Up To New Tricks! TOM FORD GIVEAWAY

People call me the problem child; I’m either moaning about my flat hair, lumpy stomach or spotty skin or spending a small fortune on products that promise to change my world and make me look like Kendal Jenner. Summer Cheap Cheap: Primark Monocrome Sandals

‘I love what you are wearing today, is it from Zara’

A smug look spreads over my face ‘no it’s actually from Primark’ and then, because I want to point out what a bargain hunter I am, I often slip in ‘it was only a fiver!’ GASP!!

Often I find that people turn their nose up at places like Primark or New Look, but honestly I find the BEST things there and you would never guess they cost next to nothing. If they break I don’t mind, I will just buy another pair because they cost me less than the Zara dress that shrunk on the first wash. This was a discussion I had with one of the girls at work today when she pointed out my super cute sandals. These are perfect for summer and look perfect teamed with white jeans or a summer dress. The best part was that they only cost me £8!!!! 

You better be quick if you fancy a pair, there were girls grabbing them left, right and underneath my legs. THIS IS NOT A DRILL…GO GO GO!!!!

Pixie's Picks is Under Construction

There comes a time in many women's lives when they feel they need a little nip and tuck, perhaps a cheeky face lift. We are one of them! Pixie's Picks is feeling a little run down and so we have found an incredible talent who is going to give us a pick me up. I am so excited to show you all I could pee a little! 

So once the new blog is in place I will start blogging regularly, with ten posts just itching to be let onto the web! It should only take a couple of weeks so please hang about and check back!

New Year, New Blog!

Hello and Happy New Year to all my lovely followers!

I know a lot of you have been wondering where I have been for the last year and some of you have been popping back to see if I have updated the blog. I had an amazing opportunity to take part in a PR internship and work with an amazing skin care brand. I have had a fantastic year but I was so busy that my blog took a back seat. However in 2014 I am going to bring it back and update it as much as possible, with lots of exciting content.

I have spent the last couple of months in and out of hospital and been pretty poorly! But I am feeling much better and hope that 2014 will start to get better! On the plus side I have spent a lot of time with my cat :)
